My Song

I welcome the first day of summer by attending a yoga and music workshop with musician and yoga teacher Jack Harrison.

We lie down and begin with some breathing exercises. Jack strums his guitar, recites poetry and sings.

Mindfulness, Meditation & Wellness Classes

IMG_7887

Well of Being‘s Sharon Vogiatzi is an experienced facilitator, both for private and corporate clients. She has been running meditation, mindfulness and wellness classes and workshops in the Leinster area of Ireland and online for many years.

MEDITATION CLASSES
Sharon is currently running bi-monthly 30-minute meditation classes via Zoom.

These relaxing classes include mindfulness, meditation, visualisation, breathing techniques and gentle movement/stretching.

A regular meditation practice sets the tone for your life in general, giving you space and pause to restore your energy, re-centre and connect to presence and calm.

The classes are on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at 7PM Irish time and cost just €5.

Whether you’re a beginner and would like to try it or if you would simply like to practice more and be led by an experienced facilitator, you’re very welcome.

€5 can be transferred via Revolut: @sharonov81 PayPal: PayPal.me/sharonvogiatzi or if you’d like to pay by card, click here or ask me for my IBAN.

SERENITY MEDITATION

When I’m stuck in my head, judging, remembering or planning, I forget to enjoy what’s right in front of me.
A friend and I discussed this the other day – how we snap in and out of presence.

What can help is regulating the nervous system through deep breathing and mindfulness.

I’ll be practicing on Monday evening, the 27th of June at 7PM Irish, 9PM Greek time.
Join me for 30 delicious minutes of movement, breath, meditation and visualisation so that we can flow into serenity, presence and appreciation.

It’ll be recorded in case you can’t make it live.

And it’s just €5 for this relaxing re-set, which can be paid to @sharonov81(Revolut) or PayPal.me/sharonvogiatzi or ask me for my IBAN.

Please feel free to contact me for details and to share with anyone who might benefit.

Depending on the type of course, I may record the session. If you can’t attend live, just ask for the recording. Only my face and voice will be recorded.

Please also give me your email address so I can send you the Zoom link. You can reach me at info@wellofbeing.ie or +306980118814.

If it’s your first time using Zoom, please check that it’s working before the class begins, find a quiet comfortable spot where you can sit (and lie down if you like) and light a candle and/or some incense to create a zen vibe. You can leave your camera on or off and I will mute all participants so we will not be disturbed. Headphones and an eye mask could be nice but are not essential.

To-Do

Today I attend a Life Coach for a much-needed, sort of dreaded business coaching session. We speak about timelines and deadlines. The Life Coach draws a “To-Do” box on the whiteboard. We also discuss ideas, fears and things that are weighing me down.

I confess that I’ve really been beating up on myself lately. I’ve been comparing myself unfavourably to others, calling myself names and believing that I’m “less than”. My mean streak is at a peak.

Open your Heart

A dear friend sent me a link to an interesting TED talk on love and relationships given by Mandy Len Catron. The theme of love and relationships had already been playing on my mind.

After watching the clip, I confessed to my friend that I long to share intimacy and affection with someone of the male variety. I quickly added that I’m just feeling impatient and that I should simply be present.

Energy

Today, I decide to spend the whole day chilling out at home. I have a lie-in, I meditate, I eat breakfast.

I reply to a few text messages. I attempt to get cheap car insurance. I have lunch. I read emails. I watch Whip It for the second time.

Flow

Tonight at an Amber Run gig, I watch as the band becomes immersed in playing. There’s something riveting about witnessing other people express their creativity and passion. It’s exciting to be invited to share the experience.

The vibration of the music pulses through my body. The beat of the drums pulls me in and spurs me on. My hips begin to sway. I raise my arms and close my eyes.

Basic Human Needs

Last night, I read Marianne Power’s most recent post on the six basic human needs. Yes, it may seem like I’ve become obsessed with this woman and maybe I have. But not in a lesbian way. In an admiring, respecting, fellow-blogger-and-self-help-enthusiast way.

Anyway, I found Marianne’s post really interesting. Marianne is regurgitating self-improvement guru Tony Robbins’ work and I, in turn, am regurgitating Marianne’s work. But we’re all putting our own spin, experience and insights into it.

Cheerleader

Some of you will be familiar with a popular song of the moment, “Cheerleader” by OMI. Well, up until Sunday night, I thought the lyrics went something like this: “Oh I think that I found myself a cherry air.”

Which makes no sense at all but I happily sang along anyway while enjoying the sunshiney sound of the trumpet.

Release Me

Last night, a Facebook friend shared Doreen Virtue’s post about how the full moon and lunar eclipse is the perfect time to release anything toxic or completed from our lives.

I’m ready to release everything that is no longer serving me well. I release:
