Free Meditation Class for Barnardos Ireland

barnardos

Next week, I’ll be marching into a new decade. My celebratory plans included sunshine holidays and maybe a trip to a yummy restaurant. But when “man makes plans…” and all that.
My mother asked me for my birthday gift wish list. To be honest, all I wanted was to see family, spend time with friends and leave the country 😀
So don’t worry about gifts, let’s do something worthwhile instead. To help vulnerable children is what resonates with me most right now. And you can’t do something good for someone without feeling good yourself.
If you feel inspired, please join me in donating. But absolutely no pressure!
I set the goal for €400, which seems like a lot but let’s make miracles during this time ♥ (I’ve since moved the goalposts to €500 and we’re very nearly there!)
Thank you in advance AND I’ll be giving a free 30-minute meditation class via Zoom on Wednesday 3rd June at 8pm IST for anyone who’s donated and fancies chilling out for half an hour with an experienced meditation teacher who’s just about to hit 40.

Here are the deets:

I would recommend that you find a comfortable, quiet space where you won’t be disturbed.
You may like to sit and/or lie down (have a blanket handy in this case).
Headphones could be helpful but are not compulsory.
For a full experience, you may like to light a candle/incense.

I’m excited for this!

The Adventure

I awake several times in pain. I might still be able to fit in a workout tomorrow morning before my flight, I try to convince myself.

The following morning, I can barely put weight on my foot. I had felt the twinges in a couple of fitness classes but had chosen to ignore them. I had pushed myself too hard and hadn’t listened to my body. Maybe I need to become more balanced in my approach, I muse philosophically while simultaneously huffing with resistance.

Into the Wild

“We’re supposed to be different. Thank goodness.”

I posted these words on my Facebook page yesterday evening along with a quote from Susan Cain’s insightful book Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can’t Stop Talking.
